Gismo Recording and Sound Service
Welcome to the home of Gismo Recording and Sound Services. Located at 166 Rosswood Rd. in Chapel Hill, NC, Gismo studios offers a real Hammond B-3 organ and Leslie cabinet. You may use an electronic keyboard when you play live but your CD can have a recording of the real thing. To see these remarkable instruments please check out my pictures page.
I also provide PA gear and recording services for your practice or live gig. I will come to your practice space or gig, with my gear and set up the sound system and run sound during the show as well as record the show. If you already have PA gear and you just want me to record the show, I can do that and you'll get a break on the price. I bring a commitment to getting the best possible recording of your performance.

Reviews

Two thumbs up for Gizmo[sic] Studio!! At last....someone who actually knows how to record an acoustic guitar!!! Nice work Ken!
I was the recording engineer (as well as
keyboard player) on Bill Ely Band's CD,
"The Go Between" which is available at
CD Baby.
There is a review there by Golden Ear and
I quote:
One of the finest examples of grass roots independent rock music I have ever heard. The drums sound like drums, the guitars sound like guitars...and so fourth. The producing is nothing short of a work of indie art!!! It kicked my ass because it sounded like the band was playing in front of me in my living room, I would like to see them live!!! I give this cd 5 stars because I think they accomplished just what they set out to do... Give us a back to basics rock album that sounds like nothing we've heard before. Thank you for this refreshing music!!!!!
And here's what Bill Ely of
Bill Ely Band had to say:
I would suggest to anyone looking to record to use Gismo Recording and sound services. Ken Denny was the engineer for two Bill Ely Band cds and did great work, a lot of the time in conditions less than favorable. In my thirty-three years in the Biz, Ken is one my favorite people to have worked with ever ! ! This guy will capture the real you.
